Worked guide

Check CSV structure and save the result

Count parsed records and spot inconsistent field counts before importing a small CSV.

Counting lines fails when a quoted CSV field contains a line break. The CSV summary tool parses records using Python’s CSV reader, reports the header, counts data records, and lists the observed field counts.

Try a deliberately uneven example

name,value
"East, district",12
West,9,unexpected

Choose Summarize CSV records on the workspace and submit that text. The result should have two records, two header fields, and data field counts of [2, 3]. That mismatch deserves inspection before import.

Use the API

curl --fail-with-body -c owner.cookies -b owner.cookies \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data '{"operation":"csv-summary","content":"name,value\nEast,12\nWest,9,unexpected"}' \
  'https://parcelartifact.com/api/jobs'

The response includes the result and the saved artifact ID. Open the artifact to download its text or retrieve a particular revision. The check does not validate types, units, encoding, or the truth of the data. Inputs are limited to 8,000 characters.
